Yesterday marks Day 100 of a powerful challenge I set for myself at the start of this year:
To play my saxophone every single day in 2024.
This journey was sparked by the words of legends.
Wynton Marsalis once talked about playing every day for seven years.
David Sanborn? He didn’t miss a single day of practice.
And then there’s the story of Charlie “Bird” Parker—playing 12 to 15 hours a day for three years straight.
That kind of consistency hit me deep. I knew I had to test what could happen if I committed the same way.
Back in 2023, I set a goal to show up every day on social media for a year.
That commitment transformed my business.
Tupelo Music Academy grew into the largest student body and team of teachers we’ve ever had.
So for 2024, I made a new kind of vow:
Play every day. No skipping. No excuses.
Now here I am, 100 days in—and I can honestly say, I’m not the same musician I was on Day 1.
🎷 My sound has deepened.
🎷 I hear music with more clarity.
🎷 I feel more connected to the horn.
🎷 The urge to play isn’t a chore—it’s a calling.
But more than just notes and tone, it’s reshaped how I live.
It reminded me that transformation doesn’t come through hype—it comes through habits.
So what’s next?
With this new fire, I’m setting a new goal:
The next 105 days are about my health.
I’ve poured energy into my art, my students, and my craft—now I’m turning that same discipline inward.
It’s time to nourish my body the way I’ve been feeding my purpose.
Here’s my challenge to you:
If there’s something in your life you want to grow—your music, your health, your business, your relationships—
Ask yourself:
What could happen if I showed up for 100 days straight?
Not waiting for the perfect moment.
Not waiting to “feel ready.”
Just a made-up mind… and one step every single day.
Let’s grow together. Let’s hold each other accountable. Let’s do hard things with love, purpose, and faith.
